Online shoppers boost internet sales
The speed and convenience of shopping in your slippers at home has seen internet retail sales value defy recession gloom to increase by 14.2% compared to this time last year, according to July’s Office for National Statistics update.
The massive leap in internet sales provided some good news for July 2012, compared to the figures for all retail: the value for all retail sales rose by a comparatively slow 2.8% increase compared to July 2011.
In today’s fast paced society, where people are spending more time at work and have little time to get hold of life’s essentials, shopping online is increasingly becoming popular as a convenient solution. Services such as Creation Consumer Finance’s award-winning e@sicredit, which uses electronic signatures and paperless processes for e-finance applications, have made it even quicker to buy online.
David Fletcher, Director of Sales at Creation, said: “The ONS figures demonstrate how online retail offerings have changed the way customers can shop, delivering finance facilities and bringing convenience to the consumer. For example, our e@sicredit system has revolutionised how internet finance applications are handled, proving invaluable for customers buying furniture, a sector which has helped fuel this online boom. It’s all about making finance easily accessible for you, the consumer.”
e@sicredit, consumer finance specialist Creation’s e-retail finance application system, won the Midlands Excellence award for Innovation in 2011, and has completed over 100,000 applications since its introduction in 2010.
