How can I pay?


Direct Debit

On signing a Loan Agreement with Creation you agree to pay all instalments on the dates specified in the agreement.  Unless otherwise specified in your individual Loan Agreement, all instalments must be paid by Direct Debit using details captured during your application.

Online

The easiest way to manage your account is using Online Account Management. You can make payments, view transactions and update your details securely. If making a payment through Online Account Management, please allow three working days for the payment to reach us.

Transfer funds to us using the following sort code and account number. Make sure you include your Creation account number and agreement number as reference. You will find this on your contract and in the welcome documents you received.

Do I meet the eligibility criteria for a Creation Personal Loan?


To apply for a loan with us you'll need to be able to answer yes to all of our eligibility criteria below to proceed with an application:

  • Are aged 23 or over and under 70 years old?
  • Do you have a minimum income of £10,000 (gross) per annum (not a student, homemaker or unemployed)?
  • Do you have a bank or building society current account which accepts Direct Debit Instructions?
  • Do you have a UK credit history which contains no adverse credit activity i.e. County Court Judgments (CCJs) or bankruptcy?
  • Are you are a permanent UK resident, and have been for at least three years?

On completion of your application we will use the information you provide, together with details from a Credit Reference Agency to assess your application and give it a score. This score is then matched alongside an 'acceptance' score, which is based upon detailed analysis of our experience with previous applicants. If your application reaches this 'acceptance' score, your application will be accepted.

Where do I send my completed agreement?


Please read, sign, date and tick both copies of your Loan Agreement in the highlighted areas. One copy of the Loan Agreement should be retained by you and one copy returned to us at the following address:

Where do I Esign my agreement?


Once you have been accepted you will receive three emails (if you are a new customer to Creation) that outline your Online Account Management username, password and instructions on how to Esign. Log into your account using the information provided then read and Esign your Loan agreement. We aim for your funds to be with you within 5 working days from the date we receive your signed agreement.

Should you be unable to Esign your agreement, we will post a copy of your agreement to your residential address as listed in your application. Please read, sign, date and tick the box on your Loan Agreement in the highlighted areas. One copy of the Loan Agreement should be retained by you and one copy returned to us at the following address using the pre-paid envelope:

How much can I borrow?


Our loans are available from £1,000 to £25,000.

You can borrow between £1,000 - £25,000 over 1 to 5 years (12 to 60 months). 1 year term only applicable for loans under £15,001.

What can I borrow the money for?


You can take out a loan for almost any reason including home improvements, buying a car, taking a holiday and a whole host of others. Creation loans cannot be used for business, speculative purposes; such as investments and timeshares, or to fund criminal activity.

How long can I borrow the money for?


You can repay your loan over 12 to 60 months (in 12 monthly intervals)

You can borrow between £1,000 - £25,000 over 1 to 5 years (12 to 60 months). 1 year term only applicable for loans under £15,001.

What does Representative APR mean?


The Representative APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is the interest rate we offer the majority of our customers who apply for a particular loan amount. We may offer a different APR based on your personal circumstances.

What information do I need to apply for a Creation Loan?


To complete your Creation loan application we'll need:

  • Your bank sort code and account number you would like the funds transferred to
  • Your home telephone number
  • Your address details for the last 3 years
  • Your employer's name and address
  • Details of your monthly income, rent or mortgage

What is credit scoring and how do you use it?


Using the information you have provided, together with details from a Credit Reference Agency, we assess your application and give it a score. This score is then matched alongside our 'acceptance' score, which is based upon detailed analysis of our experience with previous applicants.

If your application reaches the 'acceptance' score, your application is accepted. If it does not reach this score, it is declined. Credit scoring evaluates the risks attached to an application. This doesn't mean that a refused applicant is a bad payer, but simply means that our acceptance requirements haven't been met.

How quickly will I receive a decision on my loan application?


We will provide a decision instantly after you apply online or over the phone.  There may be times when this isn't possible and we may need to carry out additional checks in order to fully assess your application. You will receive an email with the result of your application, usually between 1-3 working days after applying.

What happens if I want to repay my loan early?


You can repay part or all of your loan early at any time.

Full repayment – You can repay your loan at any time by contacting us and telling us that you want to settle your loan early. We will calculate your repayment amount which will be valid for 28 days.

Partial repayment – You can pay more than your required monthly payment at any time during the duration of your loan but you’ll need to let us know, by phone or in writing, of your intention to do this.

I have several accounts/agreements with you, is it possible to make one payment and have it distributed across these?


No, we are unable to split payments across more than one agreement or account. Where you are paying by any other payment method other than Direct Debit please ensure that you make separate payments for each account you hold with us quoting your full card number or agreement number.

What do I need to quote as a reference when making payments?

How might Creation use my personal details?


  • We will use a credit scoring or other automated decision making system together with credit reference agency searches when assessing your application
  • We will make use of information relating to you and to individuals linked to you by a financial association
  • We will add to your file at credit reference agencies details of this agreement, the payments that you make under it, any default or failure to keep to its terms (and any change of address you fail to tell us about when an instalment is overdue). It is important that you give us accurate information.

You have a right to receive a copy of the information that we hold about you and you may request this by writing to us. A fee will be payable.

We will check your details and those of your financial associates with fraud prevention agencies. If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies. Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information. We and other organisations may access and use from other countries the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies.

We and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when:

Checking details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities; Managing credit and credit related accounts or facilities; Recovering debt; Checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance; Checking details of job applicants and employees

How quickly will I receive the funds?


If your application is accepted, the funds will usually credit your bank or building society account within 5 working days of receiving your signed agreement (excluding weekends or bank holidays).
