How do I make a Request for Personal Information / Data Subject Access Request (DSAR)?

Following receipt of your DSAR we will attempt to contact you to understand what personal data you are looking for and how we may securely provide you with it. We will look to provide you with all the requested data within 1 month.

Right to be Informed

The protection of your personal data is important to Creation.

Our Data Protection Notice informs individuals on how personal data is collated, used and shared by Creation.

Right to Access

You can request a copy of your personal information that Creation holds on you.

Identification

On submission of your request, for your security we will try to contact you by telephone to verify your identity.

Processing my request

Once your identification is verified and we understand what information you would like us to supply, we will aim to complete the request within 1 month.  If the request is complex the time taken to send your information may be longer.

 

Right to Rectification

You can request to update or change your personal information that Creation hold on you such as, name, address, telephone number etc.

On submission of your request, for your security we will try to contact you by telephone to verify your identity.

Processing my request

Once your identification is verified and request is approved, we will aim to complete the request within 1 month.  Some changes can be effected immediately such as change of address.  If the request is complex the time line may be longer.

 

Right to Erasure (Right to be ‘Forgotten’)

You can request the erasure of your personal data.  Please be advised that if you held or hold an existing product or purchase a new product with Creation, we are required by law to retain data for 6 years after the account is closed. Once Creation has fulfilled its regulatory requirements to retain your data it is automatically deleted.

Restrict Data Processing

You can request to restrict the processing of your personal data. Upon outlining the reasons for your request, we will investigate and respond to you. Please be advised that if you use Creation products and services, we are required by law and for the performance of our contract with you to process your data for example: payments, interest calculations etc. as well as retain your data for 6 years after the account is closed as a general rule. Once Creation has fulfilled its regulatory requirements to retain your data it is automatically deleted.

Right to Data Portability

You can request to have your personal data ported to another organisation, where technology allows us to do this. 

However, in the interest of your data security it is currently not feasible for Creation to transfer your data we hold for you to another provider by an electronic readable format.  On the approval by the Regulator of an Open Banking secure transfer method, we will update our customers of this change in policy through our Creation website through the link provided: www.creation.co.uk/data-subject-rights-request.

Right to Object to Data processing

You can object to the processing of your personal data. However, please be advised that if you use Creation products and services, we are required by law and for the performance of our contract with you to process your data for example: payments, interest calculations etc.  You can object to your data being processed for marketing communications by opting out of marketing through your Online Account Management or by contacting us by telephone, email or by letter.

Right to object to Automated Decision Making or Profiling

Please be advised that Creation use automated decision making for credit scoring only to ensure Creation are treating customers fairly and complying with our duty as a Responsible Lender. 

You are advised of this through the application journey for a product and within the Terms and Conditions.  This is also detailed within our Data Protection Notice in relation to the customers being fully informed.  Please see our Data Protection Notice at www.creation.co.uk/about-us/data-protection-notice

If an application for Credit has been declined you can request to have the decision reviewed by calling Creation on 0371 402 3419 (Loans) and 0371 376 9214 (Credit Cards)
